"Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did you come to destroy us? I know who You are.....the Holy One of God!" Do we know who Jesus is and what do we have to do with Him? He is King and Judge over all and we have everything to do with Him unto God's glory. The above quote from the Word of God comes from the mouth of a possessed man. As all fallen mankind are willfully led by Satan and his minions this is the heart of us all. Unless by the grace of God Himself sovereignly regenerating us through Christ we would all reject Him as King and Judge and cry like maddened fools, "Let us alone!", only to suffer justly eternal damnation. So great is our wickedness that we in the face of such great salvation and Light of truth would sooner cast Him off a cliff to snuff out His light and glory like fools in our darkness and rebellion. In His light the justness of our condemnation is revealed and the great magnitude of which it is. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Jehovah search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." God is just and would be perfectly righteous to have us all destroyed and this to His glory. The living God though is also love and is merciful and compassionate and this as well as His justness is manifested by Jesus. "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved." Blessed be the name of the Lord as the second person of the triune Godhead set aside His glory and humbled Himself and became flesh being conceived in the womb of a virgin by the power of God. He was born into this world without sin and was raised under God's Law and kept it unto death unto which He was appointed to. He loved God with all His heart, soul, strength and mind and loved His neighbor as Himself. He was righteous before God as Adam first was but Jesus overcame Satan and defeated him by His death on the cross having taken the sins of His people upon Himself and made atonement before God. "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Jehovah hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." As the sin of Adam fell upon us all being the head of mankind and eternal death with it so to is Jesus' righteousness and eternal life given to His people of whom He is head of. Who are His people? It is those who would humble themselves before God confessing their sins and sinfulness and repenting from them looking to God's mercy through the righteousness of Christ and the atonement of the cross to deliver them. Without Him we stand naked and destitute of righteousness before His eyes with all our disobedient acts waiting for recompense. United to Jesus we stand before God in His righteousness and have received the atonement for our sins by His death. God commands you now to seek Him early to seek Him now and be reconciled unto Him through Christ. Dear sinner will you not take heed? For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. So as in time past and into the present and the future till the Last Day God's merciful command goes forth to him who has ears to hear. He calls us all to repentance from our hateful ways against Him and casting ourselves upon Him alone for mercy through His sole provision and that is by Christ's sacrifice and His righteousness. We stand cursed already so flee to Him for refuge or be left standing alone under the wrath of God for eternity. "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” That land is the Kingdom of God established forever in righteousness upon a new heavens and a new earth. A Kingdom of which Christ is heir and all His children by God's amazing grace are co-heirs. Be sure a day is coming that marks the end of this present evil age in which all mankind will be raised from the dead from Adam to the last one who died on this world on that day. All will face the Lord Jesus who will judge in righteousness according to our deeds. Those who looked to God's mercy in Christ without hypocrisy and repented from their sinful ways will be delivered from death by Him. Those who rejected Him and continued in their sinful ways will face eternal damnation with exact judgement and recompense according to their deeds. Nothing is unknown in thoughts, words and deeds and all will be revealed. Do not hesitate. Do not harden your heart against Him. Flee from the wrath of God that is to come and take refuge in Christ! Be reconciled unto God through Christ. Do not be fooled and think there are other ways to be at peace with God for they are lies and are not the truth. . "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me." the Lord proclaims and also, " the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out." " I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin." Our sins are exceedingly great in number and increasing daily. It is ever surmounting a heavy burden of condemnation upon ourselves if we continue laboring in such a path of death and is vanity to think we will escape on our own. The Lamb of God says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Today if you hear His voice don't harden your heart. "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." Concerning Repentance and Believing |
